The new medical centre at Fairyhouse Racecourse.

Summer season continues at Fairyhouse

A new first aid building has been completed at Fairyhouse Racecourse ahead of its third Flat racing fixture of the season this evening. Located adjacent to the original building, the new first aid room is a purpose built, modern facility which will serve the needs of jockeys, first aid team and the general public on racedays. The building comprises two examination rooms, a physio room, a drug testing facility and kitchen.

The works are funded through the Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) Racecourse Capital Development Scheme, with HRI providing 40 per cent of the cost of approved projects.

Earlier in the year the main turnstile building at Fairyhouse Racecourse received an extensive refurbishment. The original roofed open space is now enclosed and refurbished to create a more welcoming, comfortable queuing space and faster thoroughfare for racegoers.

Peter Roe, Fairyhouse Racecourse Manager, said: “We are delighted with the upgrade of facilities here at Fairyhouse ahead of our summer racing season. The new first aid room will provide a more modern, functional first aid facility for our jockeys. The refurbished entrance gives racegoers a greater sense of arrival and comfort as they make their way through the turnstiles, enhancing their raceday experience. We would like to thank our builders Finna Construction and project managers Tobin Engineers for delivering these modern facilities.“

Today's evening meeting at Fairyhouse kicks off at 5.50pm.
