Kilmessan make life difficult for themselves

Kilmessan emerged from tonight's crucial SHC fourth round encounter against Na Fianna at Trim with a hard-earned 1-16 to 0-15 victory that sustains their title challenge. Victory came with a self-inflicted price tag as Kilmessan lost second-half substitute Sean Doyle to a straight red card as the clock ticked into added time.

Ger O'Neill's opportunist first-half goal after 23 minutes was the vital score as Kilmessan were ahead by 1-11 to 0-8 at the interval, but hit a blank on the scoreboard until the 10th minute of the second-half.

Barry Slevin scored 10 points for Na Fianna, Kilmessan's Steven Clynch watched from the sideline.

Kilmessan are hanging on by their finger tips, but don't write them out of the picture yet.
They will play Killyon next.
