Not exactly Kells Angels but they're back

After a gap of two years Kells Road Races will roar back into Crossakiel for a hectic weekend of action from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June and the action was officially launched on Thursday 8th May at a well-attended function in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells.

The opening evening will feature a leisurely Charity Classic Run through the town of Kells taking a route via Dulane, the location of the circuit for the inaugural road races 20 years ago in 1994.

Up to 100 enthusiasts are expected to take part in that event with some classic motorcycles likely to be on show.

The serious action will start on Saturday at the Crossakiel circuit with practice from 1pm for the various races – there will also be two races on Saturday evening.

Sunday will mark the return to the popular Crossakiel circuit with the roads closed from 11am and spectators welcome in the paddock and other designated areas.

The message going out from the lauch was one of safety and a requirement for spectators to follow the directions of marshalls on the day.

See Lester Ferguson video with details of the weekend.
