Big turnout for Bohermeen races

There was a big turnout of both athletes and spectators for Bohermeen AC’s 10k and half-marathon races today.

The half-marathon was won by Mullingar Harriers and Olympian Mark Christie in a hugely impressive time of 1:07:16.

The first Meath runner across the line was Neil Callaghan who clocked up a time of 1:12:40 on his way to securing third position behind John Byrne from Mayo AC who had a time of 1:10:51.

The winner of the women’s race was another former Olympian Pauline Curley who rolled back the years with another big performance.

In lashing rain and cold conditions the racing got underway with the 10k event which was eventually won by Kevin Donagher from Rathfarnham AC in 33.48 with local man Derek Croal in second place with a time of 35.54.
