Eggsactly the right response at Generali in Navan

The offices of Generali Pan Europe were invaded this morning by an assortment of journalists, photographers, cooks, chefs and teachers along with boys and girls from two Meath schools who were there to assist at the launch of the third Fit for Fun, Food for Fitness promotiion.

The pupils were from Ballinlough NS near Kells and St Paul's NS, Navan.

The Meath Chronicle / Generali Pan Europe initiative has grown in stature since it was first unveiled in 2012 and as part of the early-morning launch there was a cook-off to find who could make the best omelette.

John Martin added a new meaning to 'Pan' when he stepped forward to fly the Generali flag.

There were very few 'cracks' visible as the eggs were whisked and prepared for some heat in front of an eager crew who were only too willing to enjoy the 'down time away from the desk' - the pupils from Ballinlough and St Paul's also enjoyed the break.

The judging panel was in place to 'assess' whatever damage was going to be inflicted by the end product.

You can judge for yourself exactly how the Generali cook got on - see video.
