Successful surgery for Meath world champion

Ratoath's ITF Taekwon-Do World Championship double gold medal winner Lyndsey Conway underwent successful surgery this week on a knee injury she sustained at the championships in Spain last October.

The operation was successfully completed with Dr Pat Kiely and the Meath woman is now and taking some much-needed rest and receiving the best of care from good her parents.

'The doctors, nurses and physios in Tallaght were all incredibly helpful and made me feel very comfortable and took care of me every hour I was there,' Lyndsey told the Meath Chronicle today. 
'I'm itching to return to training, I'm extremely tired after operation, but super excited to get back to action soon,' she added.


Lyndsey was the first non-native to represent Poland having resided there for almost five years.

She was selected after qualifying through Polish tournament system for the European Championships held in Skovde,Sweden and returned home with three gold medals from the Championship winning in every discipline she competed in during early 2013.

She was again selected for National Team of Poland for ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships in Benidorm, Spain October and she won two gold medals, missing a third through injury.

She was awarded an 'outstanding achievement' tropy at the Meath Sports Awards last month.
