Meath Women's Refuge presentation

Meath Women's Refuge received a €500 donation from the Meath Chronicle and Boylesports in Navan this week. Accepting the cheque, presented by Meath Chronicle sports editor Conall Collier and Boylesports PR Executive Liam Glynn, Deirdre Murphy of Meath Women's Refuge said that it was a welcome boost for everyone involved with the Navan-based centre. The presentation arose following a promotion by the Meath Chronicle in conjunction with a weekly €25 charity bet with the Boylesports column that appears in each edition of the Meath Chronicle. The promotion began last November with a selected bet each week by the Meath Chronicle sports department members and the Meath Women's Refuge was the nominated charity. The promotion will resume again next week and a charity will be selected from applications already received. Provided the Meath Chronicle sports department can generate enough winning bets for another €500 donation, another local charity will benefit.
