Top award for Cian O'Connor

Olympic bronze medal winner Cian O'Connor took the Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotel Group Sportsperson of the Year award at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim. Although he is currently competing in Dubai, O'Connor was well represened at the awards and the specially commissioned trophy was accepted by his sister Pippa. However, there was a special message from the Olympic medal winner who greeted the audience through a video link recorded late on Friday eveing in Dubai. Other awards presented included the Outstanding Achievement award in the team category to Meath camogie team and the individual category to Colin Costello of Star of the Sea.
