Jump Boys broadcasting tonight

Drumree jockey Barry Geraghty features in a TV documentary that takes a candid look at the everyday lives of three of Ireland's top jockeys. Geraghty, Ruby Walsh, and Davy Russell allowed exclusive fly-on-the-wall access into a National Hunt season from November 2011 to April 2012. The result is 'Jump Boys' - an in-depth no holds barred glimpse into one of the toughest professions in world sport. This observational documentary was produced by Touchline Media for TG4 and was supported by funding from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and will be broadcast tonight (Wednesday) on TG4 at 9.30pm. 'Jump Boys' explores the extraordinary bravery of National Hunt jockeys and examines the important roles that their loved ones and a whole range of professionals play in their complex lives. All three top riders discuss their fears and insecurities, chronicle their grueling schedules and provide us with their views on the fragile nature of their livelihood. This is the first time that a production company has been afforded such unique access into the lives of our top professional jockeys. The documentary crew was with Ruby Walsh as he made history by riding Kauto Star to a record fifth King George Chase success at Kempton; accompanied Barry Geraghty as he rode five winners at the Cheltenham festival and followed Davy Russell as he won the Irish Jockey's Championship for the first time in his career. 'Jump Boys' was produced by Stephen Cullinane and Denis Kirwan of Touchline Media and directed by Luke McManus. It was commissioned by TG4 and was co-funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) and TG4. It will be repeated on Saturday night on TG4 at 10pm and will be available for 35 days on the TG4 player from 29th November. Below is a clip from the documentary: http://youtu.be/POlYkNoIjNo
