Oldest swinger in town!

Tom Clinton.
Despite having very few representatives at the Leinster Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Sunday they was plenty to cheer about for Meath as veteran Tom Clinton produced a rocket-like performance in the 60-metre final.
Other Meath athletes to the fore included David Tobin, Cheryl Dolan and Rosemary Daniel out-jumped the field to claim gold medals.
Tobin (Trim) was in spectacular form in the long jump with a leap of 6.41 metres to win gold ahead of the Kouroush Foroughi who was second with a 6.01 effort.
Foroughi is more noted for his high jumping ability, but Tobin's victory was a great success. He also reached the 60-metre final, but could only manage a seventh place finish in that decider.
Dolan (Na Fianna) did manage to claim two medals at the championship. She jumped 5.08 metres in the senior long jump and then threw 9.06 metres in the senior shot putt to take third place with the winner posting an incredible 10.46m.
Rosemary Daniel (Na Fianna) also climbed to the top of the winners when she went close to the previous championship best jump of 1.77 metres with a 1.70 leap to take the coveted senior women's high jump title.
There was master's success for Tom Clinton (Navan) when he smashed the championship best records in both the M6 60 metres final and the M6 200m decider.
Clinton clocked 8.95 seconds in the 60-metre race to beat the old record by .80 of a second and in the 200m final he knocked 3.20 seconds of the previous best when demolishing the field.
Bohermeen juvenile runner Brian McGrath put in an outstanding performance to win the minor race at last week's DCU invitational cross-country, which acts as a warm up to this week's North Leinster schools championships also at the same venue.
McGrath won in style leading home a field of 187 runners. The Bohermeen athlete was representing his schools, St Patrick's CS, Navan.
Dunboyne AC had two prizewinners in the Raheny five-mile race when Rory McDonnell claimed ninth with a personal best of 25 minutes, 30 seconds. Sean Kinnane was the second Dunboyne athlete home and his time of 27 minutes, 58 seconds which was good enough to earn him the over-45 title. Members of the Bohermeen club are reminded that club fees are now due, further details from stephenball@iolfree.ie or telephone (046) 9027041.
Dunboyne AC will host the Mattie McGrath four-mile race on Sunday, 28th March while the winter league continues every Tuesday night, 7.0.
Trim AC host under-age training each Tuesday at Boyne CS, 6.0 with circuits on Thursdays, 8.0 and a club run every Sunday from Porchfields, 10.0.
