Heineken National Sponsorship and Events Manager Pat Maher made a special presentation to Shane Horgan to mark his 75th outing for Leinster following Saturday's game against Brive.

Shane Horgan played his part as Leinster powered their way to a hard-earned 27-10 victory over Brive in Saturday's Heineken Cup encounter at the RDS.

After a three-week lay off, Leinster lacked some of the sharpness they had displayed earlier in the season yet they still managed to get the result they needed, which included the bonus point.

The Bellewstown man was involved in some of Leinster's most adventurous plays and he delivered a sublime back-handed flick to release Brian O'Driscoll for his team's crucial fourth try. The other Leinster touchdowns came from a penalty try, Isa Nacewa and Gordon D'Arcy.

After the game Horgan received a presentation to mark his 75th appearance with Leinster.

On Friday, his parents, John and Ursula, attended the Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotels Sports Personality-of-the-Year awards where they collected the May nomination trophy for their son who was unable to attend due to a training session on Friday in preparation for Saturday's game.

Leinster's victory over Brive leaves Leinster securely placed at the top of Pool Six five points ahead of London Irish who they face this weekend at Twickenham.

Horgan, who has over 60 senior international caps, captained the Irish A team against Tonga in November and could be on his way back into Declan Kidney's plans as the Six Nations approaches.
