Boardsmill secured their JFC status with an encouraging win over Drumree at Bective on Saturday. Defeat now leaves Drumree facing a relegation play off as they finished bottom of the group.

Boardsmill got off to the perfect start with an early goal from David Farrell, but Drumree rallied and dominated most of the opening period.

Their wayward shooting proved costly as they registered 12 wides and took until the 24th minute before grabbing their first score.

Eric Cribben and Keith Hamilton tagged on further points for Boardsmill to open up a 1-3 to 0-3 interval lead. That advantage was stretched to six points early in the second-half, but Drumree stayed in contention and narrowed the deficit to just two points.

However, just as Boardsmill threatened to capitulate, Vinny Guy flicked the ball to the net to restore Boardsmill"s supremacy.
