Meath 4-13 Kildare 1-16

Trim's Neil Heffernan scored four goals as Meath won the Leinster u-21 A HC title at St Loman's Park tonight.

Meath followed up on their impressive display against Wicklow a fortnight ago with a solid performance against Kildare in front of a large crowd.

Meath were ahead by 3-5 to 0-8 at the interval and Heffernan claimed his fourth goal at the three-quarter stage.

Leinster Council chairman Seamus Howlin presented the trophy to Michael Dunne (photograph) and praised Heffernan for his memorable feat.

Meath will meet the Connacht champions in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday, 21st August.

The Connacht semi-finals will be played next Wednesday (4th August) - Sligo v Roscommon and Leitrim v Mayo.
