Gary Rogers

LISTEN: Dundalk goalkeeper and former Meath footballer Gary Rogers joins us for the latest episode of Talk A Good Game

Suspended for three months for offering advice to a referee as a 17-year-old Gary Rogers was unwittingly given a leg up the soccer ladder by the GAA and he grasped that opportunity with both hands.
Bohermeen man Rogers joins Fergal Lynch and Jimmy Geoghegan in the Talk A Good Game studio this week where he recalls how that suspension was probably a blessing in disguise for him and his soccer career and how it led to him winning league titles, playing in Europe with a variety of clubs and being part of the International set up.
Rogers also recalls the controversy surrounding his involvement with the Meath Junior team that won the All-Ireland in 2003 and he looks back at his time on the Meath senior panel, firstly under Sean Boylan as a 17-year-old and then later under Colm Coyle.
