Inaugural Alanna Russell Memorial race at Navan AC

Navan Athletic Club officials organised a series of races last night on the track for children for the Alanna Russell Memorial as part of the main event the Simon Cumbers / Paddy Hyland Memorial races.

The late Alanna Russell was a regular participant with her father Keith in many of these races and also last year in the Dublin City Marathon.

She passed away last December aged eight and was remembered last night with special medals for all the children who participated.

With her dad she helped to raise some €64,000 for a new minibus for the Meadows Respite Centre in Navan, where she attended.
