Evan Shipp 17th overall In Leinster Championship

Top 20 Leinster finish for Evan Shipp

Headfort's Evan Shipp was the top Meath finisher today in the Leinster Boys U16 Amateur Open Championship at Beaverstown GC where he was seven shots off the winner after the two-round tournament.

Two rounds of 77 (yesterday and today) secured a top 20 finish for the talented young Headfort golfer who took 17th overall.

Another Headfort golfer, Cian McFadden was also in action on the final day and he finished on 159 for the two days.

Naas Golf Club's Jamie Butler won the title in a very exciting three-hole play-off against Robert Galligan (Elm Park) after both finished level on 147 after 36 holes
Third place went to Keaton Morrison from Greenacres GC who finished on a score of 149.

The level of golf was of an exceptionally high standard despite the testing weather conditions.
