Bohermeen athletes at the start

Trim Road Race update

Some 1,500 runners set out on the Trim AC-promoted 10-mile road race today with the sun shining through to make it look like a pleasant day.

The stewarding of the event was excellent and the first man home is expected at around 12.55pm.

Top athlete Sean Hehir is one of the favourites and he is running for Rathfarnham AC but the majority of the athletes will be aiming to better their own PBs or raise funds for various charities.

Navan AC runner Keith Russell asked everyone to remember Alanna at mile eight - Alanna was his daughter and passed away recently. He used to run every race pushing her in a buggy.

 Airman Luke O'Neill who is from KIlkenny but he is running for the Aoibhinn's PInk Tie cancer charity in Dunboyne.
