Meath trio in action at Seapoint

Young Meath golfers Caoimhe O’Grady (Black Bush), Orla O'Rorke (Headfort) and Chloe Maples Gaffney (Royal Tara) were in action today at the ILGU Junior Medal final at Seapoint Golf Club.

Caoimhe, who was a nominee for the Young Meath Sportsperson of the Year in 2015 won the ILGU Junior Medal in 2015, but she was out of luck this time around although she managed a top 20 finish behind the overall winner Charlie Maxwell (Royal Curragh)

Some 55 qualifiers from across the country competed today having won their Club Junior Medal for players with the lowest aggregate of three nett score differentials (relative to CSS), one in each month June, July and August 2017.

Charlie, who was involved in the ILGU Regional programme with Johnny Young this year has fallen significantly in handicap and managed 41 points today.

The Silver Medals went to Aine Donegan (Woodstock) and Olivia McCrystal (Holywood) while the Bronze Medal was won by Aoife Quinn (Dun Laoghaire).
