Athletics in large numbers will be making thieir way to the Navan Adventure Sports Centre.

Athletes head for Navan venue

Athletes from near and far will be making their way to the Navan Adventure Sports venue on the Proudstown Road, Saturday for the Athletics Leinster Even Ages and Novice Championships with a large number of people expected to show up. The Navan Adventure Sports arena is part of the racecourse complex. 

The u-10 non-championship race is part of the schedule and only athletes who are registered members of Athletics Ireland are allowed to take part in the event. "We ask club officials and parents/guardians to respect this rule and we look forward to a good event for all involved," stated Athletics Leinster. 

The u-18, junior event will be held in one race. An u-18 athlete can also compete in the Junior event as long as they are entered in the both events ie u-18 and Junior.  The athlete can score in an u-18 team and in a Junior team as long as they have been entered in both teams. 

All clubs and athletes are asked to respect that Navan Adventure Sports is a business and no entry to the premises for a run/look at the course is allowed prior to the day of the championships. 

Registration closes at 11:30 am for juvenile races and 12:30 for novice events. The provincial time-table for Even, Ages, Junior and Novice Championships are: 

U-12 girls - 12:00 noon; u-12 boys - 12:15 pm; u-14 girls - 12:25 pm; u-14 boys - 12:40 pm; u-16 girls - 12:55 pm; u-16 boys - 13.15; u-18/Junior girls - 13:35; u-18/junior boys - 13:55; novice women - 14:20; novice men  - 14:40.  

Times are estimated - athletes should arrive well in advance of their event to ensure adequate time to register, collect number, warm up etc.
