Keogan in action this morning at World Championships

Skryne man Paul Keogan is one of three Irish athletes who will be in action today at  the 2017 Para Athletics World Championships at the London Olympic stadium (14th to 23rd July).

The Meath man will feature in the morning session contesting the heats of T37 200m and he is due on track at 11am.

Keogan is one of 10 athletes selected for the Paralympics Ireland team and is a member of Cushinstown AC.

He secured three gold medals in the CP World Games in Nottingham in 2015 and went on to secure a standard for Rio and selection for the 400m as part of the Irish team . He was very unlucky to false-start in his 400m heat at Rio.

Earlier this year Paul was the guest speaker at the launch of the Meath Ladies GAA club football championships at Ratoath GAA club.. 

The other two athletes in actiod will feature in the evening - six-time World Champion Jason Smyth races again in the heats of the Men's T13 200m with Dubliner Orla Comerford making her world championship debut in the T13 100m.

More than 1,100 athletes from 95 countries are in action over the 10 days of the event that started on Friday.
