Bohermeen athlete Rose Finnegan

Rose Finnegan set for Italy next week

Bohermeen athlete Rose Finnegan has been selected on the Irish team that will compete at the European u-20 Athletics Championships in Grosseto, Italy from Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd July.

She began her career in cross-country and has evolved into a very talented track athlete with personal bests of 2.08:93 for 800m and 4.27:20 for 1,500m, but she still has ambitions in cross country going forward.

Finnegan's 2017 season began with the indoors in January and while preparing for her Laving Certificate exams her racing was minimal compared to 2016.

She had a fantastic win in the All-Ireland Senior Schools 800m in Tullamore in early June and also achieved both qualifying times for the Euro u-20 championships in the 800m and 1,500m.
