Gold for Rose Finnegan at Tullamore

Bohermeen AC athlete Rose Finnegan was in gold medal-winning form at the All-Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships last weekend.

She took gold in the senior girls 800 metres at Tullamore on Saturday.

Finnegan won the intermediate 800m title two years ago, but last Saturday’s victory in the packed arena saw her coming out of the 100m stagger ahead of her nearest competitor.

She continued do drive daylight between them crossed the line smiling in 2:12.59.

Another Bohermeen AC athlete Karen Dunne was in action in five events at the Leinster Senior Track championships in Tullamore winning four silver medals.

Dunne’s silvers came came in the long jump (5.21m), just three cms off her best, the high jump (1.50m), the 400m hurdles (67.14 seconds) and the shot (10.04m), she also finished fourth in the 100m.
