Keating amongst the honours at Clonard race

Kilmessan man Declan Keating from Skane Wheelers produced a stunning sprint finish to take the senior A3 title at the Clonard Cycling club-promoted Ras Naomh Finian at the weekend.

Keating came out on top in a mass bunch finish with very little separating the field following the 77km race held on an out-and-home circuit that started at Mother Hubbards and continued on the old Dublin to Galway road to Kilbeggan.

In the Senior A1-A2 race, the riders left the starting blocks at an exceptionally fast pace which they maintained throughout this flat fast race with Eoin Morton from Swords and member of the UCD team back to his winning ways.

In the Senior A2 race, Stamullen Road Club rider Arek Klus put in a storming performance, finishing in second place before Keating took the honours in the A3 event.
