Reilly and Ireland stay on course for Grand Slam

Marie Louise Reilly and Ireland remain on course for a Grand Slam after they defeated France 13-10 in the Women's Six Nations at Donnybrook today.

Ireland led 3-0 at the break thanks to a Nora Stapleton penalty. The French, however, hit back with a converted try in the second-half as they took grip of the game.

The Irish undaunted continued to work hard at their game and they were rewarded with following a well-executed rolling maul Leah Lyons went over for a try with Stapleton adding the extras.

Stapleton also fired over from a penalty on the hour mark and while France also scored from a penalty kick the Irish did enough to hold on.

The victory now sets Tom Tierney's side up for a big game away to Wales in their quest for glory. That game is fixed for the Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday, 11th March.

Ireland have already defeated Scotland 22-15 and Italy 27-3 despite not finding their best form.

Women's rugby appears to be growing in popularity after it was revealed how over 2.2 million viewers from the six countries have watched the games so far.

Devin Toner will also be looking forward to a visit to the Principality Stadium when Ireland take on Wales in their next step towards winning the Six National Championship.

Toner was again prominent yesterday as Joe Schmidt's side defeated France 19-9 at the Aviva yesterday.
