Bryan McKeever had a huge game for Navan against Boyne.

Navan go top as Boyne are blown away

The wind howled and the rain swept down at Balreask Old this evening but Navan did what they set out to do and defeated Boyne 34-6 to go top of the AIL Div 2C.

This was another very impressive display by Alan Kingsley's side following on from their 17-13 win over Rainey Old Boys last week. Yet again Navan's display was full of conviction and confidence and there was simply no stopping them in the wintry conditions as they powered their way to the bonus-point win.

Despite playing against the strong wind Navan led 13-6 at the interval and apart from a brief spell at the start of the second-half they dominated proceedings with Conor Ryan running in two tries.

Harry Hester also broke through for a touchdown as did out-half Colm O'Reilly and Brian Haugh over the course of the evening.

O'Reilly also slotted over from a penalty while he converted three of the tries all in the second-half when he could draw on the assistance of the wind.

Boyne could not maintain the momemtum they had built up in the second-half or break through for the try they so badly needed.

There only points came from two penalties from former Navan player Niall Kerbey.

Bryan McKeever, Sean Healy and Riaan Van Der Vyver were among the heroes for Navan who had three players sinbinned - Eoin Noonan, Van Der Vyver and Simon Hogan

'Far from from a perfect performance but we got five pionts, what more could you ask for,' said a delighted Kingsley when all the drama was over.
