All-Ireland medals for young Bohermeen cyclists

The All-Ireland Youth Cycling Championships took place at Kanturk at the weekend with some very impressive local results as young Bohermeen cyclist Adam Gilsenan won three gold medals in the different road disciplines in the under-12 category.

Overall, Bohermeen cyclists won 10 medals with Gilsenan completing that hat-trick in the time-trial, the criterium and the road race.

Callum Owens won silver in the u-14 time-trial and road race and bronze in the criterium while the u-14 team of Aaron Rafferty, Owens, Johnny Foster and Sean Finnegan won gold in the road race.

Another Meath club, Moynalty, also tasted success when Andrew Kelly took bronze medals in the u-12 criterium and road race while Navan Road Club’s Sean Nolan took silver in the u-15 road race.

Bohermeen Cycling Club officials will recognise this tremendous effort from their young members with a social evening this evening (Thursday) at 7pm in Bohermeen Community Centre.
