Michael Mulvany

Fine training achievement by Michael Mulvany

Maybe it's because he's a Dubliner who is based in Meath but trainer Michael Mulvany achieved an fine feat at Bellewstown this evening when Jembatt won again, this time under Chris Hayes, only 24 hours and 15 minutes after winning at Tipperary last evening.

Allowing for travelling time back from Tipperary last night, it means that poor old Jembatt didn't get a lot of sleep, but his trainer described the nine-year-old as 'a tough old horse that would nearly drive the lorry.”

Jembatt started off his racing a few miles up the road from Mulvany's Navan yard at Eddie Lynam's near Dunshaughlin, so it must be the good Meath air?

Now trained by Michael Mulvany for his father Larry, Jembatt was completing three in-a-row after holding on under Gary Carroll at Tipperary yesterday evening but it was easier today as Rigid Rock was two and a quarter lengths adrift in second with Takeachanceonme a head further back in third.

This was an 86th run on the track for Jembatt.

Ger Lyons and Colin Keane recorded a quick double at Bellewstown when they won the first two races on the card with this evening Boyfriend Brian and Harvey Specter.

Gordon Elliott and Nina Carberry teamed up to win the bumper.
