More silver linings for coyle

Tara's Natalya Coyle joined forces with Dublin's Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe to claim the silver medal at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup final in Minsk yesterday.

It is Ireland’s first ever medal at the World Cup finals and sees the pair cement their number one world ranking in the mixed relay event.

The duo have competed three times this year and won the silver medal every time. Belarus won gold and Korea took the bronze.

Speaking after the event, Coyle said: “I’m really happy to come away with silver. Unfortunately, my ride didn’t go as well as I’d hoped, but I’m ecstatic with everything else.

“Who would have thought a year ago we would be disappointed with silver. Myself and Arthur work great as a pair so hopefully next time it will be gold.”
