Sole Power after his last win in March

Sole power on home soil today

The Eddie Lynam-trained Sole Power will make his first start in Ireland for nearly four years at the Curragh today in the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes.

His last outing here was at the Kildare track in August 2011 with Keagan Latham from the Ger Lyons yard on board.

The eight-year-old speedster has had limited opportunities in this country running instead in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong and France.

Sole Power won the Al Quoz Sprint on Dubai World Cup night last March with Richard Hughes on board. Hughes will also be on board today.

The trainer has opted for this race instead of  the Temple Stakes at Haydock today and it will be a great opportunity for racing enthusiasts to get a look at Sole Power in action.

It's a real international flavour in this race with Gordon Lord Byron, last start over seven furlongs at Sha Tin in March, also in the field for the six-furlong event.

Can Sole Power win over six furlongs - find out at 2.45pm today.
