Dowling supreme in tour of ulster

Mark Dowling who is a member of the DID Dunboyne team produced a strong final stage performance to win the Tour of Ulster this afternoon.
Trailing three seconds behind overnight leader Eoin Morton (UCD) at the start of the day Dowling claimed the overall lead during the hilly 110-kilomtre final stage.
It was the kind of terrain that was always going to favour a climber like Dowling although he also had to hold off a group of riders who were within striking distance of taking the pink jersey.
The stage was won by Roger Aiken (Team ASEA) with Dowling doing enough to close the gap on Morton and take overall victory.
Dowling has now won the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan, the Suir Valley Three-Day and the Tour of Ulster events in what is turning out to be an excellent, memorable season for him.
Another rider from Meath to feature over the four-day event was Chris Reilly from Bohermeen, competing with the So Cycles Team.
