Big race win for Andrew Lynch

Andrew Lynch at the Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotel Group Sports awards last week.

Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch landed another big race when he partnered Jadanli to victory in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park yesterday.

The finish turned into a duel as Jadanli held on from the Gordon Elliott-trained Tarquinius in the €80,000 contest.

Lynch won the the Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse in 2010 with Jadanli and was a 25/1 shot for the Gowran Park feature having been pulled up in the Welsh National on his last outing.

There was another Meath success also when Tony Martin's Bog Warrior claimed the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park with Davy Russell on board. Martin's charge was sent off 8/11 favourite.

Both horses were sold at Tattersalls Ireland

BOG WARRIOR was sold at the 2007 August National Hunt Sale by The Flathouse Stud for €30,000 to his trainer, Tony Martin.

JADANLI was sold at the 2002 November National Hunt Sale by Suirview Stables for €6,500.

The Tattersalls Ireland February National Hunt Sale takes place on Tuesday February 5th.
