Elliott winner boosts Meath Chronicle Charity fund

Trainer Gordon Elliott gave the Meath Chronicle charity bet fund a boost today when Roi Du Mee won the feature race at Tramore.

The Chronicle Charity bet (€25) with Boylesports was on Roi Du Mee at enhanced odds of 9/4 and partnered by Davy Russell duly won the big race at Tramore.

It was part of a double for Elliott who is now operating from a base in Longwood as he also won with recent Leopardstown winner Tarquinius which quickly followed up by taking a handicap chase at Fairyhouse.

"It wasn't ideal running him so soon again, but he was due to go up 12 pounds and we took seven pounds off with a good young rider," stated Elliott.

"He is as slow as a hearse, but he stays galloping," added the popular trainer.
