Murtagh back at Gowran

Meath jockey Johnny Murtagh could return from a spell on the sidelines through injury at Gowran Park tomorrow with a winner.

He will return to action at Gowran Park tomorrow with the Tommy Carmody-trained Sherzam which is expected to feature prominently in the second race on the card.

The Bohermeen man sidelined after he was unshipped from Lottie Dod leaving the enclosure prior to the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday 12th August and sustained a facial injury.

Last week his long association with the Aga Khan ended although Murtagh will continue to ride for trainer John Oxx.

Murtagh is expected to ride Born To Sea in Saturday's Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.
