Colin Costello receiving an award at the 2011 Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotel Group sportsperson-of-the-year banquet.

Star of the Sea athlete Colin Costello was an impressive winner of tonight's South O'Hanlon 5km road race.

Costello won in a time of 15mins 22 secs ahead of Dunshaughlin's Robbie Matthews and Noel Carroll from Shercock.

Denise Toher from Clones won the ladies event with Dunboyne's Emilia Dan in second and Mary Hanley of Na Fianna in third.

The race attracted a field of almost 400 runners who set of from Beauparc station on the Navan - Drogheda railway line with the finish at Seneschalstown GAA club.
