Simonstown Gaels 0-13 St Finian's 0-10

Simonstown Gaels survived a determined St Finian's rally to win the MFC Shield at Pairc Tailteann tonight.

St Finian's, only formed this year (Longwood, Ballivor and Kildalkey) trailed by 0-4 to 0-8 at the interval due to a series of terrible wides.

Simonstown looked home and hosed at the three-quarter stage, but then had to fight a rearguard action.

St Finian's rallied in the closing stages and were denied an equalising goal by a finger-tip Robert Burlingham save in the last minute.
