Two for Gordon Elliott at Navan

Navan hosted a rescheduled meeting yesterday where there were probably more runners than spectators and where it was left to Gordon Elliott to flay the flag for the local brigade.

Elliott and Jack Kennedy recorded a double with Cartwright in the Listed Kingsfurze Novice Hurdle and followed that with Sunsetstorise  in the Toals.com Bookmakers Daily Online Specials Handicap Chase.

Toals.com sponsored four of the races, the meeting was originally scheduled for last Sunday with the sponsor unveiled last week as part of the planned welcome home for all the Cheltenham-winning trainers.

The Elliott double yesterday kept a good run going for the Summedrhill man who had a double at Cork on Thursday, two at Limerick on Wednesday, one at Clonmel on Tuesday and four at Down Royal last Monday.

The popular Meath trainer had a busy enough day at the track with 12 runners, but he took time yesterday to pose for some selfies when he was asked by one enthusiastic racing fan.
