Michael O'Leary, Davy Russell and Gordon Elliott sent out Delta Work to win the Pertemps at Cheltenham this afternoon

Delta does great work as Elliott drives to five

There was a thrilling finish to the Pertemps at Cheltenham today with Gordon Elliott's pair Delta Work and Genloe battling it out to the line after a tense three mile race with 6/1 shot Delta Work getting the nod in a photo finish.
Glenloe was comfortable throughout and looked like coming clear two out, but under Barry Geraghty, JP McManus's 4/1 shot faltered at the last and gave Davy Russell the upperhand on delta Work.
There was very little between them on the line with the judge handing the race to Gigginstown Stud's Delta Work by a whisker.
"To have first and second in a race like that is unbelieveable. the staff I have, the owners and the horses are all brilliant," Elliott told ITV racing.
"It has been an unbelieveable day. After the first day I thought 'oh my God it is going to be one of these weeks now', but we have five winners now and I can't believe.
Elliott is now tied with Willie Mullins for the leading trainers title on five winners as he bids to retain the crown he won last year. Ireland trainers have now trained 11 of the winners so far and St Patrick's Thursday is going well, with Un De Sceaux and Laurina still to come.
