Geraghty claims Champion Hurdle

Barry Geraghty made an early visit to the Cheltenham Festival winners' enclosure today when landing the feature Champion Hurdle.

The Drumree man was on board the Nicky Henderson-trained Buveur D'air which was winning the big opening day race for the second year in-a-row.

Geraghty missed last year's Festival due to injury.

This time around 2017 Buveur D'air won the race impressively from the Willie Mullins-trained Melon in second and the Gordon Elliott-trained Mick Jazz in third place.
