Ger Fox in action

Two Meath jockeys banned

Two  Meath jockeys were included in the three that were suspended for positive drug tests at hearings tonight  by a Turf Club Referrals Committee in Dublin.

The three are Ger Fox from Ardcath and amateur riders Danny Benson from Dunshaughlin along with Roger Quinlan.

Suspensions of two years each were imposed tonight, but all were reduced to six months.
Fox has had the reduction sanctioned  provided he complies with random tests through the support of his employer, trainer, Gavin Cromwell.

Quinlan could be back in action by March subject to co-operation with the Turf Club while the ban on Benson will be reviewed in six months subject to certain conditions.

The three jockeys tested positive for cocaine last October in Galway.
