Cork double for Colin Keane

Trim jockey Colin Keane was in double form at Cork today as he maintained his advantage in the race for the flat jockeys' title ahead of defending champion Pat Smullen with an 87-82 lead ahead of action at Naas tomorrow.

Keane was on board the ultra-reliabe Brendan Brackan which won the Navigation Stakes for the third time in-a-row after wins in 2016 and 2015 with Gary Carroll on board.

Keane will have a particular affection for Brendan Brackan as the now eight-year-old gave the jockey his first big race victory back in 2013 when landing the Topaz Mile at the Galway Festival

At Cork this afternoon the win formed part of a double that gave Keane a big boost in the title race with the other victory coming on board the aptly-named Celebration ran out a convincing winner of a seven-furlong handicap.

Both winners are trained in Kiltale by Ger Lyons.
