Martin takes Fairyhouse opener

With Gary Halpin on board, Steelyeyed followed up on a win at Leopardstown in April and won well with another Martin runner, Lambikin a close fourth.

A return to Leopardstown next Thursday could be on the cards next.

Martin was denied a bouble when Easy Boy was edged out in the last race by the
Jim Bolger-trained Pirolo.

Sheila Lavery was also on the mark to maintain her good run of form when she sent Empress Lyla to win on a return to the track after more than 200 days off.

Gary Carroll was on board the winner and hit the front at the furlong pole.

Another local, Keith Clarke, was in the winners' enclosure when Mistiness landed an apprentice handicap for jockey Ross Coakley.
