Colin Keane on the mark at Tipperary this evening for his father Gerry.

Family affair for the Keane clan at Tipperary

Meath father and son Gerry Keane and Colin Keane teamed up for a winner this evening at Tipperary with a bargain buy out of the Dermot Weld stable.

Trained by Gerry, Piazzini, formerly trained by Dermot Weld and only running for her new connections for the third time, and with Colin Keane on board for the first time, scooted home in a five-furlong contest.

Previous outings over six furlongs at Navan and five at the Curragh were informative for the trainer and this evening over the minimum trip at Tipperary a first win was achieved.

Piazzini was purchased for €2,000 last November and certainly repaid that outlay with the €7,300 winners prize after beating runner-up Pillar by three and a half lengths.
