Two in two days for Sheila Lavery

Agher, Summerhill trainer Shelia Lavery is the woman for winners this weekend as she followed up on the long trip to Cork yesterday with a more convenient trip to Navan today.

She was on the mark at Cork yesterday with the Ronan Whelan-partnered Hillcrest Fire and the duo were successful in Navan today when Twin Star won a maiden to take the trainer's tally for May to three.

Lavery will have three runners at Naas tomorrow and national hunt jockey Robbie Colgan has the mount on Sevenleft (9-11) in the Listed Owenstown Stud Stakes.

Also at Navan today, Dunshaughlin-based Eddie Lynam was on the mark in the opener with Dierama.

'She's out of a half-sister to Anthem Alexander and Dandy Man and the dam has bred Hamza,' commented Lynam who, unusually, will have a runner in a national hunt flat race at Punchestown on Monday.

Ger Lyons deprived his good mate Eddie Lynam of a double when Celebration and Colin Keane won a five-furlong handicap shading the verdict from Miss Power (in the famous Sole Power colours) by half a length.

Formerly trained by Richard Fahey, Celebration was purhased for 42,000 guineas at Tattersalls last October and was winning for popular Kiltale-based trainer first-time-out.

To complete the Meath theme at Navan, Moynalty jockey Declan McDonogh and Bohermeen man Johnny Murtah were also in the winners' enclosure.
