From Supa Wednesday to Fantastic Friday for Robbie Power

Derrypatrick, Drumree jockey Robbie Power added a Cheltenham Gold Cup success to his CV this afternoon at the final day of the Festival when he stormed to victory with the Jessic Harrington-trained Sizing John to add a second winner of the week after Supasundae on Wednesday.

The well-fancied Cue Card fell three out at the same fence as last year while Sizing John went to the front at the second last and followed that with a good jump at the last to add the Cheltenham Gold Cup to the Irish Gold Cup.

Crowned the Queen of Cheltenham, it was a first runner in the Gold Cup for trainer Jessica Harrington.

The Aintree Grand National-winning jockey was sidelined for a couple of weeks at the end of January with a ruptured disc in his back while he was also wearing protective gear until recently for an eye injury he sustained last year.

Power was on the mark with the Alan and Ann Potts-owned Supasundae in the Coral Cup for trainer Jessica Harrington on Wednesday which edged out Taquin Du Seuil by two lengths from the final flight with Who Dares Wins in third and Monksland in fourth.
