Not quite on the Raz after Chepstow feature!

Ardcath jockey Ger Fox went close to landing the Welsh National today at Chepstow on the Jimmy Swan-owned Raz De Maree which was less than two lengthts off the winner Native River at the post following a game bid by the Gavin Cromwell-trained veteran.

Raz De Maree flashed home, but could not find a way past Native River, with a diminishing length and three-quarters separating the pair.

There was some consolation for the connections of Raz De Maree in the form of £32,000 for the runner-up position.

Possibly a return to the UK is on the cards with the Aintree showpiece in 2017 a target next?
