Zabana wins at Gowran Park

Dunsany trainer Andy Lynch was in the winners' enclosure today at Gowran Park when Zabana landed a two and a half miles chase for jockey Davy Russell.

Zabana won at the Punchestown festival earlier this year which made up for the disappointment of not getting a run at Cheltenham (unseated at start) in March.

Zabana was fourth at the beginng of the month at Down Royal on a seasonal return to action.

'He might go to Leopardstown (for the Lexus) if the ground stayed right - I’ll have to talk to Chris (Jones) but we are taking it one step at a time' said the trainer.

Paddy Power has Zabana at 8/1 for the Lexus Chase, 12/1 for the Ryanair Chase and 33/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
