Ger Lyons landed his first winner for July when Wade Giles followed up on a debut win at The Curragh last month by taking a one-mile event at Naas last night.

Joackey Keagan Latham was never too far off the pace and took the lead over two furlongs out.

The son of Azamour showed great battling qualities to hold off the Aidan O'Brien-trained odds-on 1/3 favourite Fencing Master by three lengths.

Slane-based Pat Martin was also on the mark when Karen Kenny recorded her sixth career win when she landed the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap with Cullofane (25/1).

Meath jockeys Johnny Murtagh (Bewitched) and Declan McDonogh (Winning Impact) were also on the mark.
