Murtagh has good strike-rate

Johnny Murtagh was in double form at Leopardstown last night for boss Aidan O'Brien.

Murtagh is now on 45 winners for the season which represents a 23% strike-rate and is four winners beind the leader, Fran Berry and one behind Pat Smullen.

The Meath jockey won the opening race with Sherwood Forest ahead of Hasty Katie and Kevin Manning.

Murtagh hit the front under a furlong out and kept on well to score by three parts of a length.

Together completed the double in the Silver Flash group three stakes.

Boylesports have shortened Together from 20/1 to 14/1 for the 1000 Guineas

Moynalty jockey Declan McDonogh was also on the mark for trainer Ken Condon when Bay Knight landed the Kilmacud Claiming Race.

McDonogh made his move inside the final furlong to win by two lengths.
