Duignan newcomer impressive

Navan owner / breeder Eamonn Duignan had plenty to be pleased about at Cork racecourse in Mallow last night when the well-named Johnny McGeeney stormed to victory in the bumper.

Duignan's horse, trained by Willie Mullins, made it a winning debut in impressive style in the Corkman Flat Race.

A winners' bumper is likely to be the next target for the Navan-owned horse which had nine lengths to spare at the winning post from the Nina Carberry-partnered Summertime Solo.

Dunshaughlin jockey Keith Donoghue won a maiden hurdle on Fine Call and Barry Geraghty was also on the mark with the The Last Derby which is Galway Plate-bound
