Barry Geraghty had to survive a seventh fence mistake by Punchestowns (4/11 favourite) at Sandown park today on the way to victory in a grade one novice chase.
Punchestowns swept past the Tony McCoy-partnered Tchico Polos at the last to win by eight lengths and is now 5/2 for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham.
"He hadn't run for 71 days since he ran, Tchico Polos quickened up and my horse just got in tight. It was good that he found another leg," stated the Drumree jockey.
